"7 Dwarfs" – Ascolta Music Theater Delights Wirges Primary School

School Life Events

As part of the Startchancen program, all children at our school had the special opportunity to experience professional musical theater live

As part of the Startchancen program, all children at our school had the special opportunity to experience professional musical theatre live: The renowned Ensemble Ascolta from Stuttgart, which since its founding in 2003 has already premiered over 250 works and regularly performs at major international festivals for new music, performed its production "7 Dwarfs" at our school – with Theresa Szorek as soprano.

The Story

In "7 Dwarfs" (Music: Gordon Kampe, Libretto: Manfred Weiß), children experience a fairy-tale continuation: The famous band "The 7 Dwarfs" once had a mega-hit with their singer Snow White. But now Snow White has run away with a prince – and the dwarfs are completely out of sync. Their music sounds wrong and off-key, and there's constant quarreling. Yet they urgently need to practice for an important competition that they must win in order to keep their cottage and their instruments. In their desperation, they write Snow White a letter – but no answer comes. Has Snow White forgotten her friends?

A Complete Success for Our Children

The event was a complete success: Our students sang along, cheered, and laughed a lot. Particularly impressive was how the ensemble managed to captivate even the youngest children for an entire hour.

Part of the Startchancen Program

This event was an important building block in our commitment as part of the Startchancen program: All children at our school – regardless of their family background – should have access to cultural and musical experiences of this quality, which would otherwise not be readily accessible. Cultural participation and music education are central building blocks for giving all children equal opportunities.

The guest performance was made possible by the generous support of the Playmobil Foundation, which also gave each child a Playmobil set as a gift.

Heartfelt thanks go to Marion Großmann, who organized this thoroughly successful event perfectly.

"Growing together" – also through music and culture.
